The frozen weather is wrecking our game today
Due to the coldest winter for several years over 23 football games in the top 4 divisions. The Premier League has Portsmouth v Manchester City and Fulham v Blackburn postponed due to frozen pitches. Championship matches Blackpool, Cardiff, Doncaster and Plymouth are also crying off due to weather problems. And as we go lower down the leagues, league One and Two matches are having even worse problems with mass cancellations.
In League One the games at Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham, Oldham, Scunthorpe, Southend, Swindon, Tranmere and Walsall were called off.
Nine of the League Two games are affected, games including Accrington, Bournemouth, Chesterfield, Dagenham & Redbridge, Gillingham, Grimsby, Luton, Macclesfield and Shrewsbury are all doomed to not be played.
Up in Scotland, where they should be used to a freezing cold climate, games playing in the Scottish Cup, Inverurie Locos and Brechin have had to postpone their big dates with Motherwell and St Mirren respectively, Forfar v Forres is also cancelled.
11 games in the FA Trophy will also have to be rescheduled, and only three of the games are going to be played.
So, wrap up warm and go to the park with the kids instead.
